The Use of Solar Power Plants Throughout the World
Within many countries, you have what is known as a mega city. These mega cities are popping up in many places around the world in an effort to become known as some of the most powerful cities.
Sunlight is a renewable and free resource that not enough cities are putting to good use. With the use of solar power plants, an entire city can convert the heat of the sun into much needed electricity. It is actually very easy and the costs are low for a city to do this. Granted, to put up a solar power plant can be expensive considering all of the components that they will need such as solar panels, and just the space alone that is need, but the investment will pay off in the future. Solar power plants are very low maintenance and often self sufficient in fact. As long as it is in the direct line of the sun, there is almost nothing to do to keep this running. The solar panels will last for a very long time to come, so the investment is in the future and what can be saved over the long run.
One of the biggest solar power plants in the world is in the Mojave Dessert and is currently operating a solar power plant composed of nine separate plants. They build this in the 1980’s and have been a frequent reminder to the rest of the world that solar power plants are in fact possible, and should be used. They supply hundreds of houses with electricity made by these solar power plants. It is very low cost, and is actually helping the environment. If more cities would build these types of plants then we would all be working towards the improvement of our environment instead of against it as it seems that we are doing now.
